Our 15th & Nicollet location quickly became the front runner and early on breakfast, burgers, fries and malts was the concept we saw flourish the most here. Tucked quaintly between Minneapolis’ Uptown and Downtown Neighborhoods, the surrounding Loring Park is not only the most densely populated in the city but is home to “Eat Street”. In close proximity to the Minneapolis Convention Center and in the residents here we found a diverse, tight knit and genuine community. We could not imagine a better home and truly hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
Thanks for checking out The Nicollet Diner! As the owners we appreciate you giving us a look and hope we get the opportunity to serve you. In 2006 we decided to make Minneapolis home and in late 2012 decided it was time to take the next step and create a business that was not only in Minneapolis but could grow to become a member of the community too. Having both extensive restaurant and hospitality experience we began looking for a space for a coffee shop or restaurant concept that would allow us to extend the same hospitality we offer our guests in our home to the guests in our establishment.
Built in 1917 this location has been home to a wide variety of shops including but not limited to; an auto dealership, dollar store, grocery, and in the late 90’s it was converted to a coffee shop operated by various owners until becoming vacant in 2012. To be a fitting home for our concept, the interior of the building and portions of the exterior were completely demolished and rebuilt to accommodate the restaurant. Six windows and the rear exit in what is now the back bar had been boarded and abandoned since the early 70’s and we’re thrilled for the opportunity to give them as well as the entire space a new life and purpose. We opened our doors in September of 2014 and operate 24 hours, 7 days a week with a full bar from 8AM-2AM daily. Thanks for taking a look and we hope to see you soon!
Sincerely, Sam & Dion Turner
